On Aug. 23 MHOC kicks off a new school year and we’re excited to welcome back all our students and to meeting our new students and their families.

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of a new Principal, Dr. Stephen Brown. Dr. Brown joins us from Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School in SW Ranches where he spent seven years as a member of the Executive Administration. Dr. Brown is a highly experienced educator, renowned for his commitment and dedication to excellence in Catholic education.

Enrollment at MHOC has increased dramatically for the 2010/11 year. To accommodate our students, we’ve added another fourth grade class. Demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement, we’ve installed a state-of-the-art lacrosse and soccer field for all grades to improve their sporting skills. Furthermore, the field will enable our 5th-8th grade students to play home games for the first time ever!

On Sept. 11th, we host our annual back to school family picnic, free for all school students, their parents and relatives. This is a great way to socialize with friends and get acquainted with new families. To ensure our students don’t experience the “summer slide,” each student received a summer reading program and we’re excited to witness the outcome of that program on the first day back. Until then, enjoy the rest of summer.
