May is chock full of celebrations, innovations and appreciation. We’ve been so lucky as a school community to work hard and see so many wonderful projects come to fruition because of the teamwork of parents, students and school staff.

On May 1, CPE hosts its first annual SunFestival. Parents and students from all over the community will enjoy carnival games, Billy the Marlin and the Marlins street team and student performances. We have vendorseducating adults and children about everything from nutrition and sun safety to dental health and bike safety. We thank our vendors, volunteers and all participants for making SunFestival so successful and fun.

Our teacher appreciation week was a tremendous success. Parents couldn’t do enough to show how much CPE teachers and staff are appreciated and loved. Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication to our children.

If you’re a perspective Kindergarten parent and looking to join a smaller, but technologically advanced and innovative school, then please jot down these dates. Kindergarten Round Up is May 5 at 8:15am and again at 6pm. If you can’t make this date, try to attend May 12 at 6pm.

On May 12 at 7pm the PTA will have its last meeting of the year with elections for next year’s Board. Come so your voice will be heard.

CPE is partnering again for a yummy dinner at Buffalos. Come on May 20 and be served by your favorite teachers and staff. Buffalos gives a portion of the night’s earning back to CPE.

On May 21 CPE is having Career Day. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about many different types of careers from our very own parents. If you’d like to participate, contact the front office.

On behalf of the teachers, staff and administration we wish the students and parents a fun-filled and restful summer. Thanks to all for a wonderful 2009-2010 school year. Keep reading all summer and we wish our 5th graders the best of luck next year and to the rest of the students, we look forward to seeing you in August.
