Atlantic Technical Center and Technical High School

ATC and THS has begun the new school year with energy and enthusiasm! During the last school year, sophomores participated in the important process of selecting the Technical program(s) that they’ll complete by graduation. Excitement on campus is in the air because these students, who are now juniors, are actually in their Tech programs. Students have chosen from a variety of offerings such as: Architectural Drafting, Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nursing, Business Computer Programming, Culinary, and Mechatronics to name a few. All students at the school have the opportunity to earn the FAB 4: 1. College Ready High School Diploma; 2. Technical Program Completion/Certificate Offering Dual Enrollment Quality Points; 3.Industry Credentials; and 4. Articulated College Credentials.

Additionally, groups of students from Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society), the National Honor Society (NHS), Teen Trendsetters (high school students trained to assist elementary students with reading), and Atlantic’s Robotics team (the TechTigers) are continuing to partner with elementary students in an afterschool tutoring program. The high school students read, tutor and act as pen pals with the elementary students and also work as mentors for Lego League.

Finally, three students attended the Broward County Summer Leadership Institute and five completed Dual Enrollment courses at Broward College! For more info on the school, call 754.321.5300 or visit us on the web at www.atlantictechcenter.com and click on the tab for “ATC High School.”
