Douglas High School’s 2nd Annual College Prep 101 Night – Feb. 15

  • When it comes to preparing for college, parents and their children have many questions: Where should I apply? How can I best prepare myself? How do I pay for it? Which standardized tests should I take? What are my options other than a traditional 4 year college? Don’t fear, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the answers to these questions and more at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s 2nd Annual College Prep 101 Symposium, Wednesday, February 15 from 5:30-8:30pm. The symposium is a two-part event featuring an exhibit hall with representatives who specialize in college advising, test prep and tutoring, financial advisors, summer experiences, college tours and anything else that relates to college. There’ll also be a variety of seminars offered at which parents and students can get more in depth info about: the college selection process, finding the best fit in a college, scholarships and financial aid, resume and essay writing. There’ll also be a seminar targeted to Spanish speakers conducted in Spanish on the topic of college admissions and planning. In addition, representatives from some Florida colleges will also be present. There will be a specific seminar for 8th, 9th and 10th graders, and a special seminar on Financial Aid and Scholarships is being offered.

The symposium is a free event that’s open to the community. To learn more, visit www.douglasptsa.org.
