September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Lecture – Sept. 7

Until we have better early detection tools, all women should be educated about the disease so they can achieve early diagnosis and successful treatment. To learn more about ovarian cancer, join Dr. Almeida Sept. 7 from 6-7pm for an educational community lecture in observance of Ovarian Cancer Month. The event is free and refreshments will be served. The lecture will be held at Coral Spring Medical Center’s Medical Office Complex, 3100 Coral Hills Drive, Coral Springs. For reservations, call 954.759.7400.

Fondue-Raising Event Benefits the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund – Sept. 15

Do you have a mother, wife, sister, daughter, or a friend that you treasure? Then don’t miss the Fondue-Raising Event Sept. 15 to raise awareness and research funding for ovarian cancer. The event is being hosted by Ft. Lauderdale resident Melissa Rocker (who has family who lives in Parkland) to celebrate the life of her mother, Mickey Notice, who lost her courageous 10-year battle with ovarian cancer in 2005.

The cost is $29 per person for the complete three course fondue dinner with a portion being donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (www.ocrf.org). There will also be a fashion show, vendors selling different wares, and great raffle prizes. The event will be held at the Melting Pot, 1135 North Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale. Reservations are being accepted and seating is limited, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this special night. Call 954.568.1581 for reservations.
