FORE A Good Cause!

The Coral Springs Museum of Art Golf Tournament is sure to be a Hole-In-One March 30

Art, in all its forms, positively affects mental and emotional development; it opens doors to new forms of thinking, new inventions, and new solutions that translate into the betterment of our world. And art makes the world a more beautiful place, period. Unfortunately, art education is being neglected, budgets for it are being slashed at alarming rates, but we can all do our part to change that. Institutions are being forced to seek alternate means of raising funds for art programs, and our local treasure has become pretty innovative of late. What better way to show your support for our local Coral Springs Museum of Art than to spend a beautiful spring day out on the greens engaged in some friendly competition? On Saturday, March 30, you’re invited to come out to the Country Club of Coral Springs to experience the inaugural Coral Springs Museum of Art Golf Tournament and dinner. That’s right, it’s the first of its kind so come be a part of what’s sure to become a legacy for the museum, allowing it to expand its many educational and community-building programs. Funds raised at the tournament will also help fund scholarships for those who cannot afford the tuition for art classes. It will also fund art projects that, by engaging the community, create a better place for all of us to live, much like the recent Mullins Park Water Tower Painting Project.

And even if you don’t play, you can be part of such a fun event. Registration and a BBQ lunch begin at 11:30am, followed by a friendly putting green contest, 18 holes of golf, and finishing with an awards dinner and auction at 6pm. Golfers will have the opportunity to win several prizes along the course such as the longest drive, closest to the pin, and hole-in-one! The cost to play is $150 per person which includes the BBQ Lunch, tournament shirt, museum family membership (Calder level - 1 year), beverages while on the course (!!!), contests and awards dinner. The putting green contest is an additional $20 per player. If you cannot make it to play golf, come for the amazing dinner and auction that night. The awards dinner & auction is just $40 per guest. There’ll be a wonderful feast to enjoy PLUS you too will have a chance to take home the fantastic items being auctioned and raffled off during the night! Prizes, prizes, prizes with ALL proceeds staying here in our community for our kids and local museum! This will surely be a day (and night!) to remember, so be sure to register by March 22 and come out, connect with old friends, meet some new people and the very dedicated and energetic board and staff of this beloved museum, and just have some fun.

The Country Club of Coral Springs is located at 10800 West Sample Road. To donate prizes for the auction, to learn more or sign up for the dinner and/or the golf, contact the Coral Springs Museum of Art at 954.340.5000 or visit www.csmart.org for an application.
