Well it’s coming! The Walk in Coral Springs will once again be transformed into an art and craft lover’s paradise when the 6th Annual Coral Springs Festival of the Arts comes to town March 20-21. The beloved two-day celebration of truly incredible arts and culture will feature a fine art show, contemporary craft festival, theatrical performances and full line-up of live music. This event brings 250 of the nation’s best artists and crafters right here to Coral Springs and is simply one of our area’s most spectacular, feel-good events! Sponsored in part by LIFE Publications and so many other fine sponsors, this FREE to the public event allows you to stroll amidst life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewelry creations, photography, ceramics, a separate craft festival with some of the most incredible vendors anywhere, a Green Market and much more. And you get your dose of Vitamin D, with it all so well organized in the beautiful outdoors spanning the festive Walk.

This year’s signature artist is Contemporary Floridian artist, Sharon Segal, who likes to speak through her canvas. She uses bright colors, geometric shapes, and sometimes words to convey her message. Sharon’s love for painting evolved about five years ago. Since then, she has been experimenting with various media, paints, and styles. There is even the occasional wood piece or glitter that lights up her acrylic work. The application of new techniques and textures complete her process while adding to the originality of her art. During the day, Sharon is a first grade teacher who integrates the arts into her classroom curriculum to enhance the experience of learning for her students.

In addition to the art festival, writer’s workshops will be held over the weekend at Barnes and Noble at The Walk giving everyone from beginners to published authors a chance to gain tips and advice from the pros. From composing your memoir, screenwriting, fiction writing, young adult novels, to traditional and self-publishing, there’s something for everyone! Workshops are one hour long and are also offered FREE to the public, but you must reserve space by e-mailing Joyce Sweeney at grackle@bellsouth.net.

Each day, the festival will also feature a full line-up of performing arts and entertainment. Local schools’ drama and music programs, plus dance troops and bands will provide exciting performances to be enjoyed by all ages.

And don’t forget to stop by the LIFE Publications booth where we’ll be handing out thousands of magazines and taking pictures of peeps and their pooches for publication in upcoming issues!
