NYY Steak
In 1903, a baseball team known then as the New York Highlanders was born. Then in 1913, somehow the name, Yankees stuck. And ever since, some of the game’s most legendary players have been a part of the esteemed Yankee roster and the world’s love affair with this team began. And at the new NYY Steak, you’ll feel close to this team, to these players and to wherever you were in the world as each of these legendary players took their place in sports history, for on the walls of NYY, you’ll see their famous signatures proudly displayed and be served with plates that bear their retired player’s numbers.
Hearing about the new NYY Steak in the newly remodeled Seminole Casino Coconut Creek you’d never fathom the level of food quality to which this restaurant ascends. The casino entrance doesn’t give you more of an inkling either. But walk into the chic, sleek and contemporary eatery with those awe-inspiring autographs from all the Yankee greats illuminating many of the walls, and you start to feel the level of dining you’re about to experience.
A longtime devotee of their superb Hollywood property’s Council Oak, NYY Steak hits a grand slam, to Council Oak’s consistent home run. “It’s very similar to Council Oak in the fact that it’s definitely upscale dining using only USDA PRIME beef that’s dry aged (21-28 days) right on the premises,” offered the incredibly talented and equally down-to-earth Executive Chef Matthew Sadowski who oversees not just the exquisite NYY, but all five of the Coconut Creek casino’s restaurants.

The Seminoles do everything very, very right. It shows in the level of talent they garner and the devotion that talent brings to the Seminole’s table. Sadowski comes to Coconut Creek with a pedigree making many in his position somewhat pompous. Not this guy, he talks about this collaboration between the Seminoles and the New York Yankees with a passion that goes beyond what a job mandates. They trusted him so, Sadowski was Seminole Gaming’s Corporate Consulting Chef for the original NYY in New York, right inside iconic Yankee Stadium. Diners in that iconic steakhouse are not sure what they are awed by more, dining in the “house” that Ruth and other legends built or the amazing food itself.
Sadowski is responsible for the food part and rightly so. He was also Chef De Cuisine at their Council Oak restaurant brand since its inception at the Tampa Hard Rock facility in 2007 which is why he knows the menu, the food and the expectation of the diners who flock there. And before that? He held esteemed chef positions at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun and famous Foxwoods casinos, so the man is familiar with the even loftier dining experience gamblers expect.
Kind of a no-brainer choosing him to help create the brand NYY is destined to become. NYY exceeded by far any of the benchmarks we personally place on great dining experiences. The completely open kitchen with state-of-the-art grills and equipment is a production in itself. What is delivered to your table by as well-an orchestrated and trained staff as we’ve encountered anywhere, made for one of the most stellar and memorable meals in recent memory. The reality that this great a restaurant is literally in our backyard, is glorious.
